Shanghai Hotels?

Does anyone have any suggestions about the hotels in Shanghai that are similar to JW Marriott, but not as expensive? I read some of the posts on the JW Marriott and some said it wasn%26#39;t worth it.

I don%26#39;t know if we want to be near the Bund or the Tomrrow Square?? Which is the preferable location or does it depend on what we want to do there.

I guess we are mainly thinking of shopping while there. There is a museum I heard too.

Shanghai Hotels?

The Tomorrow Square area is better as you will only probably spend one evening at the Bund whilst on holidays. The Bund area towards the end of Nanjing has the pest factor)people trying to sell fake watches) so for that reason it is best to get away from it.

Shanghai Hotels?

Thanks, xiantraveller. Any specific hotel recommendations?

Aren%26#39;t you going to be travelling in a big group or family?

If you want to stay at an apartment (good for catching up on that washing problem?) then I could recommend a nice apartment in a good location. Otherwise there are plenty of recommendations for centrally located hotels at this forum.

We%26#39;re just travelling with 4 of us. I have heard of the apts. I thought we might need the concierge to arrange tours, etc.

One poster described one hotel with washer/dryer in the room. That would be excellent. Pretty penny I bet.

Xiantraveller...could you give the details of the apartment you mentioned? I will be in Shanghai from March 31 till about April 5. ..travelling alone. Am looking for a good hotel/hostel for around Y200 per day. But an apt sounds great...even if it costs a little more. Thanks..Katie

Sorry but the apartment is way out of your budget.
