Will be doing a three night stopover en route Sydney to Manchester at end of January 2008. Any recommendations for reasonable hotel would be welcome. What is best way to travel from Airport to visitor areas please?. What are the must-sees? Any info. gratefully received.

As for lodging, have u decided whether u want to be on Kowloon (i find it more value for $ around here) or HK Island side ?
On HK Island, a great location for tourists is Causeway Bay so try hotels like Metropark, L%26#39;Hotel, Rosedale, Express by holiday Inn etc

PS. the public transportation is very efficient in HK so u can get around just by MRT and buses if u dont wish to take a cab (which is also fairly cheap for a big city like HK).

The easiest way is to catch the train from the Airport to Kowloon or Hong Kong Central station and then a taxi to hotel (there is free shuttle bus at these stations but taxis are CHEAP in HK).
The train is straight ahead of you when you leave HK Customs. You need to buy a ticket before you get to the train. look for ticket booths.
for hotel look at this site..........lots of people say the Langham Place Hotel near mongkok is very good and good price. Hotels on the island tend to be more expensive as for businessmen and Kowloon is for tourists.
