Book Hotel over the Web or Walk-In?

I am planning a trip to china with 5 adults and 1 baby around April 14th 2007.

What is the best way to book the room to get the best discount?

What are the typical discount % offered off the Hotel Rack price during that time of the year?

Any hotel recommendation?

I am hoping to spend no more than 300RMB per room (2 rooms, 1- 3 adults and 1-2 adults and a baby). I am Chinese with a Canadian Passport.

Book Hotel over the Web or Walk-In?

Hello,

I visited Beijiing in September with my partner and can highly recommend the %26#39;Beijing Jade International Youth Hostel%26#39; - don%26#39;t be fooled by the name as this place is more like a hotel than a hostel, The location is excellent as it is approx 10 minute walk from the Forbidden City, there is a handly shop on the corner of the street and numerous restaraunts nearby. Pretty central to everything really.

Handly luggage storage, cheap airport pickup, tours.. everything you need really.

Have a look on www.hostelworld.com as it is listed on here, along with other budget hotels.

Have a great trip.

walk-in rates are always the highest, unless it%26#39;s a family run hotel and the owner is phsically at the front desk when you arrive and s/he has unsold rooms for the night and it%26#39;s already 8 pm.

Questions for Littleshel

How much did you pay for the Beijing Jade International Youth Hostel?

How did you book the hostel?

Does the hotel provide boiled water that I can use to make baby formula?

Question for Bibimbob

If walk-in rate is the highest, what is the best way to get a hotel?

Thank you to both in advance

We booked the Jade International Youth Hostel through hostelworld.com, there are a variety of rooms and yes there is a kettle in the room to boil your own water, or if you want to make noodles in your room.. If you book in advance you have to pay a 10% deposit so basically I booked a double room which worked out approximately 拢100 English pounds for 8 nights, and paid 拢10 deposit, we knew if we didnt end up staying at the hostel we would only lose 拢10! Also there are a variety of rooms so you can work to your own budget.

Good Luck!

do you have pics of the room in Jade international hostel? hope you can send it to me at danica423@gmail.com thanks =)

I presume you%26#39;re asking about accommodation in Beijing. You might also want to check out http://www.greatwalladventure.com/hostel.htm for another option.
