Flights - Beijing to Hong Kong

I wonder if anyone has any tips on flights from Beijing to Hong Kong. the main carriers are quite expensive (Cathay Pacific etc). I wondered if there were any ';budget'; carriers - ideally would like to spend around 拢200 - 拢250 all in on a couple of tickets - most quotes are 2x that on websites,

You get what you pay for. Fly to shenzhen and then cross the border by boat/train/bus, that will be cheaper.

When are you flying? As long as you aren%26#39;t flying during Chinese New Year, Dragonair (owned by Cathay now) is about RMB 3400 return. But if you want to get ';a couple'; of tickets for RMB 3,000 you%26#39;ll have to use a domestic carrier. If you want to catch a connecting flight in HK, forget it. Typical delays are 2-3 hrs.

I agree, if you%26#39;re trying to fly anytime soon, or before mid-March, prices are quite insanely high. Flying to Shenzhen would shave a bit off the price. No budget carriers on this route.

This is very helpful. I will try to do the same, fly to Shenzhen then go to Hong Kong. Now, I just need to find out how to get to Hongkong International Airport from Shenzhen and how long would it take.
