Tai Chi uniforms / weapons shopping in Shanghai or Beijing

Hi,

I%26#39;ll be going in March for one week in China with a graduate school group. We%26#39;ll be spending part of the week in Shanghai, and the other in Beijing. While most of the plans are fixed as part of the group, we%26#39;ve been told we will probably have either an afternoon or evening free out on our own for sightseeing and/or shopping.

As I teach Tai Chi (and my spouse teaches Kung Fu) in the U.S., I%26#39;d like to see if there are good values for martial art uniforms and/or weapons, in Shanghai or Beijing

Suggestions would be much appreciated as to where to shop, as well as how to transport purchases (in luggage or ship home separately); this is especially important for Shanghai purchases, as we will be flying from Shanghai to Beijing and I%26#39;ve heard that the baggage weight/volume allowance on the planes are quite low.

Thanks,

Harriet

If you%26#39;re on a budget, China Post would be your best bet for shipping your purchases home.
