OK, it%26#39;s about three weeks before my first visit to HK with my wife. I%26#39;m sitting on the fence between these two hotels.
I%26#39;ve already got a reservation on the executive level w/breakfast at the Metropark through AsiaTravel.
The Royal Plaza is about 400HK/night higher w/breakfast and other perks from their web site on their executive level. It appears to be a more luxurious hotel. Correct?
When we arrive at HK airport, it will be close to midnight., so transport to the hotel is a consideration. Our flight departing HK is at 10:00 AM.
Pros? Cons? Location? What am I missing? Thanks in advance. Dave
Royal Plaza vs. Metropark Hotel Kowloon
Hello,
There is no doubt that Royal Plaza is better, better location quality. At least Royal Plaza is near the KCR station and it is located in downtown, it is easy for you to visit Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui and HK Island.
Metropark is fine also but it is not very good for transportation, which may spend more time on it
Royal Plaza vs. Metropark Hotel Kowloon
The location of Royal Park is definitely more convenient, and the area is more fun: Goldfish Street (Tung Choi St), Flower Market Road, Bird Garden (although you might want to just look at a distance) and the chaotic Fa Yuen Street.
Don%26#39;t know how much you pay, you can also consider the Langham Place.
Thanks for the guidance. I also checked Langham Place. It was a lot more than the RP. At the moment, I%26#39;m leaning towards switching to the RP.
I have very strong negative opinions against MetroPark Hotel Kowloon. ( basically, I hate this hotel). It%26#39;s in the worse location for a tourist/businessmen. The transportation is terrible there, and there%26#39;s hardly anything convenient for tourists, no dining options, no shopping...etc. Although some guests say they don%26#39;t mind the location b/c they use their shuttle bus. For a Local person, it%26#39;s a waste of time.
I personally think, if you have other choices, any other hotel would be better. (of course in the same class I mean).
Langham Place would be a lovely choice. Royal Plaza is good, but not as good as LP.
Other possible choice, Kimberley Hotel is also a good location one, but small rooms.
Good luck.
Thanks for the information.
