where to stay

My husband and I are are arriving in Hong Kong on the 7th Dec at 8.30am till the 10th when we go on to Perth so we have got 3 days in Hong Kong, but don%26#39;t know whats the best area to stay in and what hotel. The hotel not to be overly expensive but don%26#39;t mind paying abit extra as long as it%26#39;s nice. Thanks VTb

where to stay

For HK Island side, not too expensive will the one hotels along Causeway Bay eg. Metropark, L%26#39;Hotel, Harbourview, etc

Good Luck

PS. Kowloon on an overall basis is a cheaper place - shopping, dining, hotel (except Peninsula or Intercontinental HK of course), etc

Kowloon%26#39;s more popular hotel is the nice Langham that one doesnt have to pay an arm and a leg to enjoy luxury.

where to stay

I highly recommend Langham Place, and depending on whether Hotel Panaroma is going to be opened when you arrive the end of this year... you might want to take a look.

Meanwhile, Royal Garden is a nice hotel, Kowloon Shangri-la, and Harbour Plaza Hong Kong. These three%26#39;s location isn%26#39;t the best, but for the price, and luxury... it%26#39;s good value.

Sheraton and Marco Polo HK are also good hotels to look into.

Katetam: What are your opinions on Ramada Hong Kong and Royal Plaza Hotel. Thanks. I have already read the reviews here on those 2 hotels but just wanted to get your opinions on them.

Speedy, I personally would choose Royal Plaza over Ramada Hong Kong.

Royal Plaza would be more convenient for transportation, and it%26#39;s connected to a huge shopping complex (very busy on weekends though)..... and has much bigger rooms, and it%26#39;s all in all a hotel that would be at least 1 category ranked higher than Ramada, maybe even 2 !

Ramada is not well located, and it%26#39;s surrounded by the very old buildings, and shops nearby there are very local.....

However, the price of Royal Plaza is be more expensive than Ramada Hong Kong, so you must choose what fits your budget.

Royal Plaza is not connected to the MTR, it%26#39;s a short walk to Prince Edward Station, but it is above the KCR station of Mong kok.

Thanks Katetam. Ramada Hong Kong appears to be a new hotel. How old is the Royal Plaza?

Ramada Hong Kong is indeed a new hotel, however the area isn%26#39;t...... anyways, that%26#39;s just my personal opinion. Some people quite enjoy the area%26#39;s ';uniqueness';....

Royal Plaza is not new... I don%26#39;t know the exact number of years, but for sure over 10 years old.... it%26#39;s well kept though.

Hope this helps.

Thankyou for the advice I might have a llok at the Royal Plaza.

Thanks VTB

stayed in Royal Plaza....It%26#39;s an excellent Hotel.... very near to shopping areas in Mongkok... the ladies market is just few blocks away... plus the shopping center on the Hotel.... Had a great time in Royal Plaza.... authentic restaurants around the corner.... MTR is few blocks away.... don%26#39;t mind the crowd though.
