Should we go straight to Ngong Ping from the airport?

Arriving at 9am on Tues, Feb 20 and wondering if it is more cost effective to go to Ngong Ping straight from the airport rather than going back from HIE?

MTR costs HK$20.10 each way between Causeway Bay and Tung Chung using octopus cards, therefore saving HK$40.20 altogether if you go straight to Ngong Ping.

But left luggage service costs HK$50 per piece, plus HK$3.50 each way on the bus S1 between airport and Tung Chung cable car terminal.

Therefore, if you have one piece of luggage per person, going straight to Ngong Ping is not more cost effective. But save some time on travelling back and fro hotel.

You can leave luggage at airport%26#39;s left luggage service.

From airport, either take bus S1 or a blue taxi to the cable car terminal.
