Is it easy to get to Shenzhen? How long does it take? Have never been to China or HK before and am looking for the cheapest way to get to Beijing, have been told flying from the mainland would be cheaper than from HK.. Thanks!
Hong Kong to Shenzhen/Guangzhou
Hi, the KCR East Rail tranverse between Hung Hom in Kowloon %26amp; Luohu in Shenzhen.Journey time here is less than an hour.
Kowloon to Beijing by rail is about 25 hours.
Generally train ticket is 1/3 that of air ticket.

Hong Kong to Shenzhen/Guangzhou
We are staying at Langham Place. Have just visited the KCR website as you suggested, and it seems like I can just catch the train straight through from Mongkok to LoWu? Is that right? Seems too easy!

Yes, you are right, you can take the train to LoWu from any intermediate station including Mong Kok.
Is LoWu near the airpport in Shenzhen? If we took a flight from Shanghai to Shenzhen airport can we then easily get a train to Hong Kong fron Shenshen airport?
Yep its a peice of cake although the trains can get fairly full though if you have baggage, %26amp; from memory they don%26#39;t run very late at night either, sorry not sure on the airport bit though, good luck.
