Ok so no offense to the others, but the Yale Romanization was somewhat lack luster.

Thank You(In Formal), also can be Please, and can be Excuse me-Mgoi

Sorry-Deui Mjyuh

How Much Money- Gei Do Chin a?

Thank You(Formal)-Do Jeh

The problem is the Chinese language has tones and different sounds then English, so if you really want to learn how to say simple phrases go to: www.cantonese.sheik.co.uk

problem with the above is you have to study the official pronunciation of the symbol used first. Try to pronounce the Yale ones with ';normal'; English :)

Some of those sound like Mandarin.

Don%26#39;t worry about the language thing in Hong Kong. They speak English everywhere! But knowing a few phrases is definitely a good idea.

Thanks to u all,

Any thing i can use i will. I think its important to at least try the local language even if they do have a good laugh at me. I like the beer translation. i look forward to trying some local brews. Which are the better local beers?

HK has San Miguel and Anheuser-Buschnthat are brewed there

Or u can try :

elgrande.com.hk/restaurants/鈥?/a>

most restaurants will have Tsing Dao (chinese) or u can go to Macau for some local brew :)

Hi West Oz Man, %26amp; as a Perthonian have you heard of Simon %26amp; his brewing, let alone the huge collective knowledge within the forums on his site www.brodiescastlebrewing.com ,

He has just spent new years with us here in Christchurch NZ sampling brews I didn%26#39;t know even existed right on my own back door as it were, but basically if a beer is on sale in a 1/2 decent shop or chain of shops in HKG then it is fine, only 1 of the Chinese variants was not to my liking a Beijing based mob, Ill post the name if I find the pics, but it was supposed to be a ancient recipe etc, more like Toothys sheep dip to me, cheers.
