Beijing-xi`an-hong kong - shanghai - beijing

Dear trip advisors,

4 of us are planing trip around China. We only have air tic. to Beijing ( from Europe). Our plan is to stay in China for 13 days, And visit Beijing (01.-06. march); Xi`An (6.-7. March); Hong Kong (7.-10. March); Shanghai (10.-13. March). To all this cities we plan to travel by plane.

Our question are:

1. What do you say about this plan, is it maybe too ambitious?!

2. Is it good to book all air line tickets and hotels for these cities on arrival to Beijing ( and where we can do these bookings?)

3. Is it enough 700 Euros for all these air line tickets per person?

1) The number of days for each city sounds fine. However, you would need to fly out of Hong Kong instead of Shanghai or Beijing, otherwise you would need to apply for a double-entry Chinese visa instead of the normal single-entry.

2) I would offer to help with your hotel and transport bookings, if you need. I%26#39;m studying in Shanghai and have travelled extensively throughout mainland China, I regularly deal with the travel logistics for my friends and I when we travel together, so I have plenty of experience!

3) You really don%26#39;t need to fly all these legs, possibly half of those would be sufficient. Overnight train sleepers are comfortable and much more time and cost-efficient.

Hi, My brother and I are about to do a very similar trip!

We have 12 days and plan to fly into Shanghai, fly to Beijing (flight is 拢87 with eastern china air) and then 24hr train from Beijing to HongKong - around 拢150 cheaper than flying this destination - plus I%26#39;m sure some amazing views of the country. good luck with your planning - and i%26#39;ll post again if I find any tips as I go along.

Air + Train is a good combination choice for your requirements.

For domestic flight and booking, including the flight to hongkong, just try www.elong.com, the china leading online tourism service provider in china.

For trains for some legs, such as beijing to xian by overnight train, you can check the latest china train timetable through www.adventurechinatrip.com/chinatrain.asp. The soft sleeper ticket to xian from beijing could be easily get by yourself, just go the railway station to buy the ticket, easy!

700 Euros is absolutely enough for all transportation. (If you will not travel in high season, that would be more that what actually you need to pay.)

Hi,you should out from Hongkong,back Beijing again waste more time and money.s days in Beijing is a little long time,4days is enough,i suggest Beijing 01-04,Xi`an 04-06,Guilin 06-07,Shanghai 07-10,then to Hongkong for other days.700Euros is enogh per person for the flights.of course ,book all the flights in Beijing is better as you can get specia; price,for the hotel,you can find local guide help you,they can get special price.if you need tour guide in Beijing, you can contact Meteor(lnghulyn@126.com),he also can help you arrange anything in Beijing and book the flights for you.have a nice time.
