Night tour

We arrive evening time in HK around 4-5pm

We%26#39;d like to start our HK experience straight away.

I think it might be best to do a tour (group or private)

to do the following things

Cruise to see light show

Victoria Peak

Temple St

Free time for dinner

Do you know if any tour exists?

Or would it be better to do it ourselves (we%26#39;ve never been to HK before)

Thanks

Chris

If u arrive at 5, u will be checking into the hotel by about 7 (rush hour traffic unless u r planning to take the express train into town then u will save yourself an hour after baggage claim) which is still not a bad time to make a trip to the peak for a dinner as well as a view :)

U can also make your way to temple street after dinner at the peak.

U dont really need a tour in HK, u can get around easily and cheaply (cabs are cheap even if u dont rely on MTR) and everyone in the main touristy areas (almost) speaks english.

So depending on where u r staying (kowloon or HK Island), your itinerary can change to suit your time/schedule.

Good Luck

Chris:

Depending on when you arrive and where your hotel is de_last_one%26#39;s advice above is accurate. Most evening tours pick up at hotels beginning about 5-6pm. For a good overview of Hong Kong and a list of tours go to http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/index.jsp and follow the touring links. I don%26#39;t know of one that offers the Peak, dinner and a cruise. You can book a dinner cruise before arriving through the tour agencies%26#39; web sites. I%26#39;ve used Gray Line several times and booked on the net.

Yes above posts are true, just go for it,................. ie last year was our 4th visit to HKG %26amp; we had nearly 4 full days between the various trade shows to attend, so we grabbed a Octopus card (simply the best thing to do) %26amp; went from base to apex all over the place, ferries, trams, buses %26amp; that fabulous MTR (just mind the evening rush hour its shoulder to shoulder, but never scary or dangerous) keep a couple of the different freebee maps on you %26amp; the lay of the land just falls into place, don%26#39;t be too scared of trying any food place that even looks 1/2 clean we have never had a problem, in fact the ';outback'; chain of restaurants is almost unbelievable in quality %26amp; quantity. Good luck. PS if you find your self pushed for time to get somewhere (within either the island or aroung greater Kowloon, just take a cab, so cheap so quick, %26amp; if you find yourself in a ';fake'; cab the service tends to be even better, I wonder why!
