During our 2 wk trip, we plan to stay in Yangshuo for 3 nights to explore and relax before moving on. Any recommendations for at hotel in Yangshuo? Has anyone stayed at the Yangshuo Mountain retreat? I%26#39;m also thinking of doing everything independently, but need to find a driver/transport in Chonquing to take us to my mom%26#39;s village about 2 hrs away. ANy suggestions?

I will presume that you can speak Mandarin so the best way in Chongqing is simply hire a taxi for the trip or the day if you wish to return.
I am also guessing that you are under 30 so my suggestion would be to stay in Yangshuo township itself as the Mountain Retreat is about 4 klms out of town and getting back there after 11.00pm can be a problem because the taxis seem to disappear about then

Yangshuo moutain retreat has very quiet atmosphere and near Yulong River, Moon Hill, caves, and other attractions. it is most popular visiting area of Yangshuo.
