weekend away

Hi,

i would like to suprise my boyfriend for his birthday and take him away for a weekend at the end of March. I live in Hong Kong and am looking for a relaxing weekend away from touristy things that is quite close to HK. Somewhere that has a nice hotel, where we can just chill and hang out. Help!!! Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

to answer your question, yes and yes!! We have a 6 mth multi entry visa. We live in Hung Hom on the KCR and the train to China, so any ideas....

Cebu Air would fly to Manila, capital of the Philippines, so that could be one consideration. Otherwise, Yangshuo (http://www.yangers.com), Thailand (not very familiar with specific spots, sorry), Singapore and Bali come to mind.

Thanks for those suggestions, we are actually heading to Yangshou in Chinese New Year!! You have helped us with some info for that trip too!!! was thinking of somewhere in southern China, not too far away so we can spend more time relaxing and less time travelling?

Xiamen might be another good option. I can%26#39;t really think of anything that%26#39;s nearer to Hong Kong which%26#39;s really worth visiting, except Macau.
