beijing help needed please - can we do it ?

we (3 adults and one 9 yr old) will be arriving at Beijing airport at 16.10pm 31/3 and leaving Beijing airport at 8.00am 2/4 and staying on Wangfujing avenue.

In this time, we would like to see The Great Wall, Beijing zoo ( the pandas for the little one!). Tiannamen Square and the Forbidden City.

I think we would need a car and driver due to the time constraints, can anyone advise if the above would be possible and if they could recommend a driver

Many Thanks

Hiring a car would help, though finding a place to wait for you could be a bit of a problem in the city.

You could start out early in the morning, go to the Great Wall at Badaling, and be back in town around 11:30 AM, stop at the zoo go straight to the pandas and leave.

Then, you could grab something to eat at a fast food place near the zoo and then head to Tiananmen and the Forbidden City (by 2:00 PM) and spend the remainder of the day there. You could have the car just drop you off and walk back to your hotel when you finish.

You could also see Tiananmen Square in the evening of 31/3, though you need to go back to get to the Forbidden City anyway.

We have used China Highlights for this type of thing for Beijing and in Xi%26#39;an and found them to be excellent. You get a car driver and english guide.

we went to the zoo thru a side gate early in the morning to see the pandas and it was dissappointing, 3 and 4 people deep, didnt really see very much.

thanks guys for your help and ideas, they are much appreciated.

We had a few days in Beijing at the end of January and used Qing. She%26#39;s a great tour guide and will be honest about what is feasible to see in such a short time. She organised a driver to take us to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. It would be easy to see with a little one because there is a cable car to the top. In Beijing itself we either walked if sights were nearby or caught a taxi. Her price was very reasonable (300 yuan a day) and we%26#39;ll certainly use her services as a guide if we are in beijing again.

Her email contact is chineseqing_2008@hotmail.com

thanks imebett for your help.
