Bad time to travel to China?

We%26#39;re about to book a 2 week trip to China, hoping to see Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Our plan is to go the last week of April and first week of May, but I%26#39;ve heard a rumour that this is a bad time to go as everything is excessively busy at this time.

Can anyone please confirm (or deny) this?

yes,its May Day Holiday for the first week of May,try to avoid these days.

as ny tour guide experience, the first 3 days of May ,everywhere is so crowed while the day after may,4 will be beeter.

try to avoid this tourism rush hour and you will enjoy more in China!
