can anyone offer any advice on the best airport transfer?, my wife cannot walk to far, and stairs would be an issue, so is a taxi the best way?

It depends on what ';far'; means in her case. The hotel car, which is the most expensive option, should have the least walking overall. The second option would be taking the Airport Express as you don%26#39;t even have to get out of the terminal or go up/down any steps to take the train. Once you get to Kowloon station, there is some walking involved but not unreasonable. From there, you can just hop onto a taxi and be at the hotel within 15 minutes.

You could request that the hotel offer you airport pick up for a completely hassle free trip.

Usually they pick you up with your name on a placard. When we went to HK we decided to do this to our accommodation. In our case, the driver escorted us to an elevator in the airport terminal which took us down to an area where all of the private hotel vans were parked - also picking up their clients. WE did not encounter stairs. This is a easy method if you are worried about getting lost, stairs, health issues etc.

Email the hotel and ask them what they will charge for this service. It is a good idea for first time visits to any country.

We stayed at Langham Place last year and we ordered the Hotel Limo - The service was excellent. From the Desk at the Airport, the staff took our trolley to the Lounge area (After giving us a drink) and we only had to wait for 5 minutes before our car arrived. It was so good that we booked it going back to the airport as well!

Highly recommended - worth every penny (And, it helps it you have not slept on the aeroplane!)

Going back, the Limo drops you right by the departure lounge so all you have to do is walk through the doors.
