we are planning our tibet trip and are using www.successchinatours.com - we have used them in the past and found them to provide good service, pricing and helped get us to some places off the beaten track. speak to lily there and at the very least get a quote - they will also offer u suggestions of itenerary and accommodation

I%26#39;m also heading to Lhasa by mid June. Planning to use http://www.dreams-travel.com

WAsn%26#39;t sure how the service is but so far the staff seems very responsive with our questions and the price seems reasonable.

I%26#39;m also heading there in May. Currently exploring some options with the tour company called Visit Tibet Travel and Tour Co. (visittibet.com/wwwroot/webfolder/Tibet.asp). Can%26#39;t seem to find any reviews about them other than their online feedback forms. Anybody have any experience with them (good or bad)? Thanks.

You%26#39;ll love Tibet. Are you planning to go to Tibet via China or Kathmandu. That will help determine what agency to utilize. It would appear that the ones mentioned above all went via China, and based on the reported experiences were all reliable. If you%26#39;re going via Kathmandu as my wife and I did, you would probably be better served by a local agent there. As many previous posters have said, try to get a Tibetian guide and driver.

We looked at a few online tours but they seem to be very overpriced for travel in a third world country? Most of them seem to be do-able when you are there by hiring local taxi, minibus etc. We are planning a trip this summer and will do it on our own (as usual). I am sure you can get better deals when you are there.
